Event
To mark the V&A's blockbuster exhibition British Design 1948-2012, the gallery's shop is relaunching a number of classic British designs for sale. One such is a collaboration with Race Furniture to reissue Ernest Race's 'Antelope Chair', originally commissioned to furnish the outdoor terraces of the Royal Festival Hall for the 1951 Festival of Britain.

May house prices up 0.5 per cent since April: average house price in England and Wales now £161,677
South East tops the table of regional applications with 267,587 in May
Over 54,000 residential property sale prices in England and Wales lodged for registration in May ranging from £10,000 to £18.5 million*
The May data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 0.4 per cent which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,677. The monthly change from April to May is an increase of 0.5 per cent.
The region in England and Wales which experienced the highest increase in its average property value over the last 12 months is London with a movement of 7.7 per cent.
London also experienced the greatest monthly rise with an increase of 2.6 per cent.
Yorkshire & The Humber experienced the greatest annual price fall with a decrease of 3.9 per cent.
North East saw the most significant monthly price fall with a decrease of 1.9 per cent.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during March 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales increased by 25 per cent to 58,609 compared with 46,742 in March 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in March 2012 decreased by 41 per cent to 501 from 845 in March 2011.

IT’S FRIDAY SO IT MUST BE PHOTOSHOOT DAY!
Emmerson Dutton of Duttons joined us for the day at number 26 to take part in a photoshoot for publicising his membership of The Knightsbridge Office.
Tim Jenkins, the well known London photographer, took lots and lots of pictures and some of us had great fun trotting up and down Cadogan Square, as well as taking more formal shots outside number 26. However, we couldn’t resist showing off our favourite picture – Emmerson doing an impersonation of Singing in the Rain, his way and incorporating one of our famous London lamp posts. We just had to share it with you!
